Colonic Hydrotherapy with Heather Wight RGN (BScHons)

Colonic Hydrotherapy is the gentle cleansing of the colon (large bowel) using water. It is a Naturopathic Science which can revitalise and improve health. The colon is the main organ for eliminating waste from the body but can become sluggish with constipation and bloating as a result of incorrect eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle.

Cleansing the colon removes old waste matter and toxins which hinder the bowel’s ability to function properly. A treatment lasts about 45 minutes during which time filtered warm water is flushed through the colon in a safe and carefully monitored environment. Gentle abdominal massage aids the procedure which is carried out in private and comfortable surroundings.

The practice of colonic hydrotherapy dates back to Egyptian times and has recently experienced resurgence of interest through celebrity and media exposure. More and more people are turning to alternative therapies despite an increase in available drugs and surgical interventions.
